The formalities continue. Some people thought this "no sex" recommendation was supposed to be important to the plot but again, not really, just one of many bits of advice Eve is given and chooses not to take in this story. Hanna is a foil (here, and in general) because she knows way too much, and easily catches Eve in her own lie.
