This page was originally posted on Christmas, and I think the scene has a warm ambiance to it that reminds me of the holidays. Memories of getting home from our respective dramas and commiserating with my housemates. The malaise of the after-party. The idea that a second night is about to begin.
What Hanna says here about a party being a "means to" something seems to sting for Will and Eve, maybe because it's a brutally honest thing to say about being around other people, and a sad thing to think about. Hanna is so goals-oriented and doesn't like to shop around, not even for friends or a life partner. Thinking about social settings in those terms is a bummer, particularly if you're not settled down yourself.

I love how quickly and comfortably Eve goes back to her grapes.
