is she sighing in the last panel? those small, empty speech bubbles have always kind of confused me. i see them every now and then, and i'm not sure what they're supposed to represent.
I think (at least in this instance) it's supposed to represent that the character's lack of speaking is somewhat palpable. Like she is reacting to the situation in her head but is sort of speechless.
Jane's flirtatious banter is great, and the transition in panel two into the interaction between former partners is beautifully done. Expressions in the final panel are spot-on (I've been both Jane and Mar).
Oh man, Mar. Shoulda just gone with the original plan. There is NO WAY this is going to go smoothly, at all.
*sidenote* I REALLY like Marigold's blouse and skirt and hair. She looks so pretty!
Seconded. I have dark blonde, wavy-ish hair and am considering going out and buying this outfit RIGHT NOW. Love the colors. It really it very cute and well put-together (er… well-drawn / designed by Meredith!). Is there anything Meredith can't do?! Great work as always.
She is like the Ferris Bueller of web cartoonists. She can do anything!
And she also teaches, which also makes her Mr. Miyagi, I guess.
And the combined strength of all the Masters from Kenichi: History's Strongest Disciple.
At first I thought it was a vacuum for getting little weed bits that get loose (bug => roach). Then I'm thinking it's a 'personal massager'. Then I google it and people actually sell mini vacuums to catch and kill bugs with. Flyswatters not cool enough I guess.

There's no way this can go wrong.
Right?

"I can't believe he got custody of Hannah in the divorce."
Trrebi981
This is the only acceptable response.

I know this feeling well.
@nalem
I think it has more to do with how Hanna ruthlessly chewed Marigold out while she was getting over Marek.

Omg I know these feels!!

Awww! I missed the impossibly high counters that Cafe Blasé used to have… http://www.octopuspie.com/2013-02-07/578-dude-don…

Will seems so happy … why am I worried about the fact that Will seems so happy?
@nalem
Enter text right here!
Kate
I can't help but wonder how long Will had been standing behind them… awkward
Skinny Panda
Found him! Or at least his shoulder. Second panel of the previous comic.
Loving the sneaky details!
Mary
He was stocking the display in the previous page – you can see the little triangle of red
jon
Will seems to know a suspiciously great deal about what's in Hanna's drawers.
Hmmm…
Kate
Yes, but apparently so does Marigold! It's going to be a very ugly custody battle.
Robert
What's in Will's backpack? Ten kilos?
BoomBaby
He’s stocking up the pastries that Hanna’s company “Bake n Bake” supplies to Cafe Blasé. You can see the B+B on the container in panel 3.

This is not precisely post-specific, but is Marigold in a better place now? Can Victor come back?

Shade of Blue
So much for "indirect."
Ron
bug vacuum?
TRA
Maybe it is a small vacuum? Like a Dustbuster [tm] vacuum? *shrugs*
Patty
I'm confused….since when are Marigold and Hanna not friends?
Rachel
Since http://www.octopuspie.com/2014-03-11/647-doesnt-t…
They're friend break up provides a lot of the conflict in Hannah's running story line (starting here: http://www.octopuspie.com/2014-09-09/704-705-good….
channamasala
Yeah…somehow I'd always thought they'd made up offscreen or something.
Guess not.
Kathleen
Did Marigold say “bug vacuum”? What is that?
Elisha

It's probably been said, but: I think that's Will's Bake + Bake delivery backpack.
"Delicioso! yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!" : )
grantimusmax
Jane: "…Is there something I'm missing?"
Mar: "I threw up on his dick."
Jane: "Ooooooooh…. that makes sense."
J.M.
When did Will and Mar get on speaking terms again? I feel like I haven't seen them in the same room in forever.
Arkadi
Still bugs me that every time we see Jane, she seems to be single. What's wrong with the world? :c
Rachel
So…Will's still a delivery boy with a backpack?
TRA
He went from stoners, to rock cakes. Go figure!
@tinatinabanana
Patiently waiting for this to blow up in everyone's faces. Both worried and excited.
adamrocketblack
I suspect this "bug vacuum" takes C batteries
